Eduardo Folco Capossoli and Henrique Boschi-Filho Instituto de F́ısica, Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro, 21.941-972 Rio de Janeiro-RJ Brazil Departamento de F́ısica, Colégio Pedro II, 20.921-903 Rio de Janeiro-RJ Brazil Abstract In this work we propose a modified holographic softwall model, analytically solvable, to calculate the masses of lightest scalar glueball and its radial excitations and of higher spin glueball states for both even and odd spins. From these results we obtain their respective Regge trajectories, associated with the pomeron for even spins and with the odderon for odd spins. These results are in agreement with those calculated using other approaches.

Glueball masses and Pomeron trajectory in nonperturbative QCD approach

Using a nonperturbative method based on asymptotic behaviour of Wilson loops we calculate masses of glueballs and corresponding Regge–trajectories. The method contains no fitting parameters and the mass scale is fixed by the meson Regge slope. Theoretical predictions for lowest glueball states are in a perfect agreement with lattice results. The leading glueball trajectory and its relation to t...

QCD Glueball Regge Trajectories and the Pomeron

We report glueball Regge trajectories emerging from diagonalizing a confining Coulomb gauge Hamiltonian for constituent gluons. Using a BCS vacuum ansatz and gap equation, the dressed gluons acquire a mass, of order 800 MeV , providing the quasiparticle degrees of freedom for a TDA glueball formulation. The TDA eigenstates for two constituent gluons have orbital, L, excitations with a character...

Glueball Regge trajectories and the pomeron: a lattice study

We perform lattice calculations of the lightest J = 0,2,4,6 glueball masses in the D = 3 + 1 SU(3) gauge theory and extrapolate to the continuum limit. Assuming that these masses lie on linear Regge trajectories we find a leading glueball trajectory α(t) = 0.93(24) + 0.28(2)α′ R t , where α′ R 0.9 GeV−2 is the slope of the usual mesonic Regge trajectory. This glueball trajectory has an intercep...

Glueball spectrum and the Pomeron in the Wilson loop approach

Using a nonperturbative method based on asymptotic behaviour of Wilson loops we calculate masses of glueballs and corresponding Regge–trajectories. The only input is string tension fixed by meson Regge slope, while perturbative contributions to spin splittings are defined by standard αs values. The masses of lowest glueball states are in a perfect agreement with lattice results. The leading glu...

String Models of Glueball and Regge Trajectories

The closed relativistic string carrying two point-like masses is considered as the model of a glueball with two constituent gluons. Here the gluon-gluon interaction is simulated by a pair of strings. For this system exact solutions of classical equations of motions are obtained. They describe rotational states of the string resulting in the set of quasilinear Regge trajectories with different b...
